Living Well
Everyone has their own stuff. There are issues often labeled as mental health, such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. There are issues labeled as medical such as Diabetes, Lyme Disease or asthma. The reality is that our mind and body are profoundly integrated. Stress, for example, can affect our physical health as well as how we feel emotionally. My approach is to work with all aspects of my clients' well-being, referring to doctors or other professionals if needed. I'd like to help you achieve your hopes and desires. Mindfulness & Stress Management As a therapist and wellness coach, I'm delighted to introduce my clients to mindfulness for stress management, increased mental clarity, diminishment of pain, and anxiety. There are many ways of integrating mindfulness into the rhythms of your day. Studies are showing that these approaches can lower pain and stressful feelings, in some cases reducing the need for medication. I specialize in sensory awareness. it's comforting, fascinating and useful, and can include work with essential oils and colors, for example. Reiki can also be a way to de-stress and get calm. I'm happy to provide sessions for groups, working colleagues, families, or students. Career, Vision & Development Awareness of work often begins from middle school, and continues through until retirement. At any level, job preparation and job search can be a challenge. I can help high school students consider their futures and what they need to get going. I can assist college students with pre-employment strategies and marketing skills. I can work with people who are in or returning to the workforce in assessing their interests, strengths, and how to promote their abilities. I can teach techniques - verbal, nonverbal; on the telephone, in groups, workshops, meetings - to increase ability and confidence, for individuals or groups. |
